Here is some information I have discovered, through references and experiences, on essential oils and oil blends that can
enhance meditation.  After each of the blends is a list of the oils that they contain.   Awaken may help one see their higher potential so the necessary changes/transitions can be made to achieve it.  May be
beneficial for spiritual enhancement.  (contains Joy, Forgiveness, Dream Catcher, Present Time, Harmony)   Believe helps one to focus ones mind and to promote belief in oneself and what be accomplished.  (contains Idaho balsam
fir, rosewood, frankincense)   Cedar (Canadian Red) may help spiritual awareness or meditation when diffused, dropped on a hand, rub palms together
and inhaled.  Was used by Canadian First People to enhance potential for spiritual communication by helping them to attain a higher level of spiritual being.   Cedarwood traditionally used by North American Indians to enhance spiritual communication.  It creates the symbolic effect
of the umbrella that protects the earth; brings energy in; and that wild animals lie under at night for protection and rejuvenation.   Dream Catcher may help open the mind, enhance dreams, protect from negative dreams, and help find emotional balance.
(contains sandalwood, bergamot, ylang ylang, juniper, blue tansy, tangerine, black pepper, anise)   Elemi the name, elemi, is derived from the Arabic for As above, so below.  Elemi works on both the spiritual and
emotional planes.  It may help calm and center during meditation and bring the mind, body, and spirit into alignment.   Forgiveness is a blend of oils that have powerful emotional effects to bring people into a higher spiritual awareness of their
needs, forgive, forget, let go and get on with their lives.  (contains frankincense, sandalwood, lavender, melissa, angelica, helichrysum, rose, rosewood, geranium, lemon, Palmarosa, ylang ylang, bergamot, Roman chamomile, jasmine)   Humility helps with emotional balance, finding a place where healing can begin.  (contains geranium, ylang ylang,
frankincense, spikenard, myrrh, rose, rosewood, melissa, neroli)   Inspiration contains oils that may enhance communication with and awareness of the spirit world.  (contains cedarwood,
spruce, rosewood, sandalwood, frankincense, myrtle, mugwort)   Juniper was used during Biblical times to banish evil spirits and during Medieval times it was hung over doors to ward off
evil spirits and burned to deter demons.  It has been used for spiritual purification and awareness. It evokes feelings of health, love, and peace.   Myrrh was used historically in religious rituals, promotes spiritual awareness, and is uplifting to the emotions.
Roman Chamomile traditionally used, by the early Romans, to clear their minds.  It can help release emotions linked to the
past; soothe and clear the mind.   Sandalwood has been known to awaken the latent life force energy during meditation.  Many cultures consider it a sacred
oil.   Sandalwood may remove negative programming from cells and calm and harmonize emotions.   Sacred Mountain gives us a feeling of protection, empowerment, grounding, and sacredness within ourselves.  (contains
spruce, ylang ylang, fir, cedarwood)   Spruce was used by the Lakota Indians to enhance their communication with the Great Spirit.
Tsuga (a form of hemlock) is uplifting to emotions.  It opens, grounds, and elevates at the same time.  Some people like to
use it during yoga and meditation.   White Angelica 10 different oils are blended here to enhance ones aura, shield us from others negative energy.  The
aroma may be a tremendous aid while meditating.  (contains geranium, spruce, myrrh, ylang ylang, hyssop, bergamot, melissa, sandalwood, rose, rosewood)   Essential oils are fun to play with as one meditates.  I like to experiment and use different ones at different times.  The results are most interesting.  I do hope that you enjoy trying different ones to enhance your meditative experience.   For more information email Nancy Cebula or call her at 303.499.1607.
