Thieves is an interesting name for an oil blend and has an interesting story, too.  Thieves was created from research on a
group of 15th-century thieves who put herbs in their masks and rubbed oils on themselves to avoid contracting the plague while robbing the bodies of the dead and dying.  When arrested, the thieves disclosed the formula they used to protect themselves in exchange for more lenient punishment.  Thieves is a blend that contains oils that may help the body protect itself from the onset of flu, candida, colds, etc.  It may also help with sinusitis, respiratory ailments, coughs, sore throats, gum disease, teething, cold and canker sores, bruises, cuts, slivers, and splinters, and of course, the plague! Thieves contains these oils:   Clove Lemon Eucalyptus Radiata   Rosemary Cinnamon Bark   I use this oil when I am traveling to protect myself from all that is in the re-circulating air in an airplane.  I put a drop on a hankie and periodically sniff it or I simply open the bottle and waft it under my nose.  When I feel a sore throat or other infection coming on, I put a drop in a small glass of water and drink it.  Bob and I also massage it, mixed in a bit of pure vegetable oil, over our throats when we have a sore throat.  We have put Thieves directly on canker sores – stings at first, then it numbs, and the sore heals.   I put it on a deeply imbedded splinter and the splinter came out the next day.  During the “cold and flu” season, I put 3-6 drops of Thieves in a gel capsule and take it with a small glass of water.  I take Thieves everywhere I go!   Other ways to use Thieves are:  Massage the bottom of feet, throat (may need to dilute with oil if too strong for the skin here), stomach, and intestines.  Dilute one drop of Thieves in mixing oil and massage the thymus to stimulate the immune system and massage under the arms to stimulate the lymphatic system.    Diffuse for 15 to 30 minutes every 3 to 4 hours in work or home environment.  For headaches put one drop on tongue and push tongue against the roof of the mouth or on your finger and rub it on roof of mouth.  (Use with caution during pregnancy.)  Thieves is also available in lozenges and as a spray, a household cleaner, and as wipes.   For more information email Nancy Cebula or call her at 303.499.1607.
