Spruce is one of the more aromatic essential oils I have ever smelled.  It immediately takes one to a pine forest, high on a
mountainside, so one can breath in that wonderful, cleansing mountain air!  Spruce has some lovely properties, too.  It helps the body deal with infection, parasites, and inflammation.  It has shown cortisone-like properties.  Spruce has been used for years as a general tonic for the body.  It has a reputation for releasing emotional blocks, supporting the nervous and respiratory systems, and easing the symptoms of arthritis and candida.  Spruce may be beneficial for bone pain, aching joints, and sciatica pain.   It grounds the body, creating a feeling of balance. Spruce creates the symbolic effect of the umbrella, which protects the earth and brings energy in from the universe.  Many animals in the wild sleep under a tree for the protection, recharging, and rejuvenation that the tree offers.   Traditionally, the Lakota Indians used Spruce to strengthen their ability to communicate with the Great Spirit.     Suggested applications:   I like to diffuse Spruce.  It makes a room smell wonderful.  I also use it for relieving stressed muscles and joints.  I apply it topically, to the bottoms of my feet, the Vita Flex/reflexology points, or on the area of concern.  Of course, my favorite way to use Spruce is to open the bottle and sniff!   Spruce blends especially well with Wintergreen (or Birch), Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Helichrysum, and Ravensara.   For more information email Nancy Cebula or call her at 303.499.1607.
