Grapefruit
  Home
Cold pressing the rind of Grapefruits creates this versatile, low-cost essential oil.  In France, Grapefruit essential oil is used for
digestive issues, dealing with cellulite, water retention, and as a lymphatic decongestant.  Many of the citrus oils have
fat-dissolving properties and Grapefruit is no exception here.  Grapefruit does not have the same photosensitivity as other
citrus oils, so it can be substituted for lemon, etc., when one is going to be out in the sun soon after using the oil.

Aromatically, Grapefruit is uplifting and can help the mind find a state of balance.  It also may help with pre-menstrual tension
and stress.  It also has a reputation for helping us get over jet lag.

I use Grapefruit whenever I decide that I have been eating too much and want to let go of a pound or two.  I put 5 drops each of
Grapefruit and Lemon essential oils in a half gallon of water and drink all of it.  I do this every other day for a week.  I also put
some in lotion and massage it over cellulite-filled areas of my body.  This is a long process – the cellulite does not go away
immediately – it can take months!  However, I think that this is a good thing as it gives my body time to get rid of the toxins that
are probably stored in the fatty tissue without straining my liver!  I think that slow is better.
