Quality is very important to me.  I am careful to use therapeutic grade essential oils and floral waters.  Otherwise, I may not get
the benefits that I expect.  Whenever possible, I use oils from organically grown or carefully wild-crafted plants.  Each essential
oil contains many constituents that may trigger responses in my body.  Careful steam distilling of the plants results in
unadulterated, pure essential oils (and their by-product, floral waters – see below) without losing these constituents.  So when
you are looking for essential oils – make sure you use therapeutic grade, steam distilled oils!

I have fallen in love with these wonderful gifts from the plant kingdom.  I use essential oils and floral waters many times every
day, as perfume, to nourish my skin and hair, to promote wellness, to relax, to focus, to calm my digestive system, to soothe
burns, to cleanse wounds, to enhance my moods, to protect me from illnesses, and so on and so on.

Essential Oils

Essential oils can be used singly, layered - one after another, and as blends.  Here is some information on these aromatic,
helpful essential oils – history, benefits, how I use them, some of my favorites oils, and information on using essential oils
safely.

About Essential Oils

My Favorite Essential Oils

Here is a list of some of my favorite essential oils.  For others, please look at the list of
Essential Oil Information Sheets or
check out some of the books listed in the
Books and Video Reference list.

  • Eucalyptus Globulus – so good for the respiratory system, as well as conditions like aches, allergies, and burns.

  • Frankincense – A very powerful oil with a multitude of uses, historically and today.  Good for stimulating the mind, raising
one’s frequency, dealing with stress, promoting meditation, increasing the effectiveness of other oils.
  • Geranium – I have used geranium to stop bleeding, help with nerve pain and injury, skin issues, and its lovely smell.

  • Grapefruit – This oil actually knows how to tell our body to metabolize fat faster and let go of fluids.

  • Lavender  – my absolute favorite – the “Swiss Army Knife of the Herb World”.  Calming, soothing, healing – so many uses,
    so little time!

  • Lemon – What can I say – another useful essential oil.  I put it in my water, especially when away from home, I use it to purify
my hot stones after a massage, I use it when cleaning.

  • Marjoram – Great for soothing tense muscles – I use it in almost every massage (occasionally someone does come in who
    doesn’t need it!).

  • Melaleuca Alternifolia/Tea Tree – Has been used for years and years for healing wounds, burns, infections, warts, acne, etc.

  • Peppermint – Cooling, stimulating, good for digestion, improves concentration, another versatile essential oil.

Floral Waters

Floral Waters, also known as essential waters and hydrosols, are what is left after the essential oil is distilled from the plant
material.  These lovely, aromatic waters are a homeopathic version of the essential oil.  I use them daily, on my skin – to
hydrate and soothe, on my hair – to give it body, as a room freshener, on my dog and horse, in lotion making, and many other
ways.

Fly Spray (for Horses. Dogs, and People)

So many fly sprays available now contain harsh chemicals.  I decided to research essential oils for their fly, mosquito, and
other flying critter repellent ability.  After several summers of ‘research and development’, I found a combination that works
well.  This fly spray is safe for horses, dogs, and people (good because I have yet to spray my horse without getting some on
me).  During deer fly season, I make sure I spray myself as well!  And, as a bonus, it smells good too!

Cocoa’s Fly Spray contains therapeutic-grade essential oils, including Peppermint, Cedarwood, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca,
Lavender, Geranium, and Basil.  It comes in a concentrate or already mixed in distilled water.  Shake often while using as the
oils and water tend to separate.

Concentrate (to be added to one quart distilled water)     $12.00
Ready-mixed in a 32 ounce spray bottle                             $18.00
